Adam’s work was physically demanding, often requiring 12 to 14-hour days, sometimes 7 days a week. A Workplace Accident That Changed Everything
Adam’s journey to healing took an unexpected turn when, while working with heavy machinery, a snake appeared inside the headliner of his skid steer. He had always been vigilant about checking his equipment, but this time, the snake slipped past him. As the snake fell into his view, panic set in, and Adam lost his footing, falling about five feet. The impact crushed his heel and fractured multiple bones in his left foot, resulting in a calcaneus fracture. The doctors told him that he would never walk barefoot again and that he would need to wear orthotic shoes for life.

Physical therapy involved passive movements, with his therapist manually moving his foot and leg, as it couldn’t move on its own due to the long period of immobility. "I heard a loud pop as the tree unexpectedly exploded into pieces. I immediately started running away from the tree but was unable to escape," Adam recalled. The force sent large sections of the tree flying unpredictably, and one struck him, leaving him with a severe compound fracture to his right leg. Despite the intense pain, Adam’s determination to survive and recover took over. He quickly performed emergency first aid to stabilize his leg and managed to get back to safety. The recovery process for this injury was even more grueling than the first, requiring months of patience, resilience, and sheer willpower.
